Supplied to the highest specification, meet the current and future regulatory requirement of cosmetic industry. Oxidation series The oxidation series fall into two categories, oxidation base and oxidation coupler, applicated for permanent or long-lasting semi-permanent hair-dying. A typical oxidation hair colorant pack contains at least two, usually three separate components. One is colorant, which is the mixture of oxidation base, coupler and some other additives. One is the developer (peroxide). The other is conditioner Colorants in liquid or cream form will be mixed together with the developer(peroxide) to be activated prior to application. Oxidation series are colorless, low molecular weight products. thus they can go into hair shaft, where oxidation base and coupler react to generate larger, colored molecule left inside the hair to achieve permanent color. The color is often followed by treatment with the conditioner. Usually oxidation base and coupler are used with combination of 1:1. but sometimes combination from 5:1 to 1:5 is also used to achieve different color. As they could get permanent color and cover grey, oxidation colorants is the most popular class worldwide. They are widely used in various market, including hair salon, supermarket and etc. Semi-permanent series The semi-permanent series mainly contain 3 types, cationc dyes, HC series, nitro aminophenols / phenylenediamines, applicated for semi-permanent or temporary hair-dying. The HC series and nitro compound are typically low molecular weight products. Thus they are small enough to go into the hair shaft. While the cationc dyes are much larger molecular weight products and have good substantivity for dying the outside of the hair. Both types are capable of generate a color lasting up to 10 washes. The color given is inadequate to completely cover grey / white hair. Semi-permanent colorants are usually applied without peroxide or ammonia and therefore cannot lighten the hair's natural shade to give a colour lighter than the original shade. Those who do not need long-lasting coloring prefer this kind as they are not so destructive like oxidation colorants to hair. |
